Constructed of a gilded zink alloy
the former constructed of dark green wool base with a buckram core

A Gold miniature cross in red enamel superimposed on black enamelled two headed eagle, surmounted by crown, obverse centrepiece has initials FJ, reverse inscription of the year 1849, 27 mm (h) x 15. 7 mm (w), extremely fine condition. Footnote: The Imperial Austrian Order of Franz Joseph was an Order founded by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria on December 2, 1849, on the first anniversary of his accession
